ARROW visits South Fork Offshore Wind Farm

ARROW faculty, staff, and students visited the South Fork offshore wind farm last month as part of a tour organized by the National Wildlife Federation. The tour brought together energy leaders, engineers, municipal policy makers, sustainability non-profits and science communicators to connect and learn about about wind energy technology.

Built by Ørsted in partnership with Eversource Energy and completed in March 2024, South Fork Wind is New York’s first offshore wind farm and the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in the U.S. The tour included an informative presentation by Ørsted engineers on the construction and productivity of the turbines.
