ARROW Director Dr. Sanjay Arwade delivers seminar at Clemson University through ARROW-FLEx initiative

Dr. Sanjay Arwade, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UMass Amherst and the Director of ARROW, visited Clemson University on September 19th to present a seminar on Wind Energy Engineering from a Structural Engineer’s Perspective. In his talk, Dr. Arwade highlighted fundamental principles, design considerations, and research needs for advancing resilient offshore wind infrastructure. He also provided an overview of the diverse research activities happening at the ARROW Research Center—spanning metocean conditions, grid and power systems, infrastructure, and ecology—carried out in collaboration with researchers across multiple institutions, including Clemson University. The talk, which concluded with a discussion of job prospects and opportunities for students in the growing wind energy sector, was presented through the ARROW-FLEx initiative, which works to build instructional capacity across institutions through OSW course and educational materials exchange.
