ARROW Faculty Emmanuel Branlard’s project selected for OESI funding

The Ocean Energy and Safety Institute (OESI) awarded Dr. Emmanuel Branlard, Associate Professor in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at UMass Amherst, a $304,951 grant to conduct research on the project titled, “Health monitoring of offshore wind turbines using physics-based digital twin solutions.” The research, led by Professor Branlard, will develop advanced predictive models by producing a comprehensive digital twin solution that integrates real-time data to more accurately predict loads and environmental conditions. UMass Amherst was one of fourteen awardees selected out of ninety-one proposals received across three research pathways. Details of the awarded projects are available at https://oesi.tamu.edu/cycle-ii-awards-announcement/
