ARROW student Xi Peng presents at ROSEI summit

ARROW student Xi Peng, working with ARROW faculty Ben Schafer, presented the poster “Collapse simulation of full-scale tower under load combination with measured imperfections” at the Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) summit at Johns Hopkins University last month.

This study presents collapse simulations of full-scale wind turbine tower with measured imperfections and three different ways to model the full-scale tower with different fidelity. The results show that three different ways of modeling the full-scale tower are able to provide nearly the same results of tower capacity.
