ARROW students present at EAWE PhD Seminar

ARROW students Amelia Adcroft and Martin Beshara recently presented their research at the October EAWE PhD Seminar in Athens, Greece. This annual gathering supports and connects PhD students in the field of wind energy and is an opportunity for doctoral researchers to present and discuss their work with the European Academy of Wind Energy community.

Amelia presented her research on how the Vollmer et al axial induction modification to the Fitch wind farm parameterisation affects the representation of wind farm wakes.

Martin presented his initial findings on nested mesoscale-microscale modeling of tropical cyclones and shared his research on their validation and potential implications for offshore wind turbine design standards. He also joined the EAWE PhD Seminar Committee for 2025-2026.

Amelia and Martin also had the opportunity to visit and meet engineers from the Agios Georgios Wind Farm, as well as to see wind tunnels and other experimental facilities at the National Technical University of Athens.
