ARROW welcomes Dr. Yi Guo, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University

ARROW is pleased to welcome Dr. Yi Guo to the ARROW-Innovate faculty team. Dr. Guo joined the Clemson University Mechanical Engineering Department in August 2025. Previously, she was a full professor and Head of Section at the Wind and Energy Systems Department of Technical University of Denmark.

Her research centers on integrating multibody dynamics, sensing and monitoring, fracture mechanics and material characterization, as well as advanced manufacturing to improve lifetime of mechanical components in wind energy.

From 2011-2022, she has worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where she specialized in wind turbine drivetrains and wave energy devices. During this period, she developed multiphysics design codes for drivetrain design (WISDEM-DriveSE), rolling element bearing slip, plant reliability assessment and co-developed the wave energy device simulator (WEC-Sim).
